Hieronder is een schaamteloos epigonistische lijst met bands en artiesten waar ik graag en vaak naar luister. Een enkeling daargelaten is het allemaal moderne metal – een hopeloos onzuiver mantelbegrip voor muziek die varieert van metalcore tot progressive deathmetal en van posthardcore tot emo. Voor wie van deze genres houdt, en ik besef dat dit niet iedereen is gegeven, zit er vast wel iets onbekends tussen dat de moeite van nadere kennismaking waard blijkt. Ik hou deze pagina regelmatig bij met toevoeging van ‘ontdekte’ bands en artiesten die ik interessant vind, en verwijdering van degene die ik aanvankelijk het voordeel van de twijfel gunde maar mij bij nadere beluistering alsnog niet voldoende konden boeien.
